Overview
In a Commission form of Government, such as the City of Lower Burrell, the Mayor has only one vote and no veto power.
The current Mayor is John Andrejcik, who is only the sixth Mayor in the history of the City. The Mayor is the Chief Executive Officer of the City and the presiding officer over the City Council Meetings. The Mayor is empowered to sign all City documents, solemnize marriages, and administer oaths and affirmations as to City business, and shall attest all acts with the Mayor's seal.
Other programs that are under the Mayor's guidance are: D.A.R.E. and Community Oriented Policing.
Appointments
Because the Office of Mayor and Council are not full time positions they are available during various hours. Appointments can be scheduled for other times by calling City Hall.
